The Merino Community Festival was started in 2011 by a group of residents who wanted to bring an affordable, fun-filled day out to Merino and district families, providing entertainment for all age groups from toddlers, primary school children, right through to teens and adults. Local community and sporting groups are also given the opportunity to raise their own funds and recruit new members.
If you are looking for a fun day out for the whole family with entertainment for everyone at a low cost then the Merino Community Festival is for you!
Following 6 very successful Festivals, where over 500 people passed through the gates each year, the committee is enthusiastically organising a bigger and better 2017 Festival. This year's Festival will be held on Saturday November 25 at the Merino Recreation Reserve.
The kid's entertainment will be a highlight again at a very affordable price. There will be an abundance of activities including Zorb Balls, UFO Cars, bungee run, jumping castles, mobile zoo, merry-go-round and face painting. This year sees Top Putt Mini Golf joining us for the first time and is sure to be a hit with the kids and adults!
The Casterton Sporting Motorcycle Club will be holding a race day and non-members are able to pay a day member fee to join in the races and enjoy the picturesque course at Merino.
There will be a large variety of market stalls to grab a bargain at and lots of food stalls to tempt the taste buds, bar facilities and live music all day by local musicians.
The success of the past SIX Festivals has allowed the committee to donate more than $8000 to several community, school and sporting groups from Merino, Digby, Casterton and Hamilton who were involved in some way in the Festival.
So entry for $10 per adult and $15 wristbands for kids, which allows them unlimited access to all kids entertainment, this is the best value festival in the Western District!
Save the date - Merino Community Festival, Saturday 25th November, 2017 at the Merino Recreation Reserve.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN OUR COMMITTEE?
We are a small group of dedicated people who meet on the 3rd Tuesday night of each month. We encourage our members to each take on responsibility for one small aspect of the day, and by doing this try to spread the load, so that no one person has too much. Many hands make light work. It is not a large time commitment, and we all do as much or as little as we are able to.
Our group is looking for some new members with a wide range of interests and strengths to further develop our Festival and we would love you to become involved in any way that you could. Please contact us if you would like to
know more.
